Olivia Durham is a mixed media painter from Denver, CO currently based in Chicago, IL. Olivia received a BA in Studio Art and a minor in Art History from Denison University, as well as a post baccalaureate and Masters of Fine Art degrees in Painting and drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her practice involves a general focus on sensations of existentialism and the human condition through obscured renderings of the figure, exploring themes such as the uncanny, distortion, isolation, discomfort, motion, and energy. Evolving from a process of collecting images from digital and printed archives, her work explores the effects of images visual stimulation as both physical and conceptual material in relationship to painting and the human psyche at large.
